Ok, I've read the threads on the subject of pets. I know that you have to have several kinds of pets to learn all of the non-trainable skills that you want for your future pet down the line. My hunter is now level 13, and I'm on
my 3rd pet. One thing that I haven't found is an easy way to get rid of one pet to get another, since the only way you can have more than one at any time is to stable them, and if you don't plan on keeping it anyways
whats the use of that?
My problem is the way you are required to dump one pet to gain another. Neglect him/her until they finally run away? Ok, no problem, I thought - until I tried it. Some pets seem to be more loyal than others, and just won't leave easily. I tried the summon/dismiss technique which supposedly knocks down your pets loyalty 50 points every time, but no matter how many times you do it, even if they are already unhappy they keep coming back. Likewise if you send them into battle alone against multiple opponents and don't heal them till they die. Does anyone else feel guilty about having to do it this way? I mean, theres your pet - with his unhappy face icon, either rezed or re-summoned, bounding to your side again like
some kind of playfull puppy thinking to himself "oboy oboy oboy, he called me again - maybe I'll get some food cause I'm sure hungry".
There I am, killing mobs and looting meat but not giving the pet anything. I can almost hear em drooling, whining and begging to be fed, sheesh. THEY JUST WON'T LEAVE unless you really abuse them over and over and over. After all, it was a wild pet when you tamed it, and you're just trying to release it back into its natural environment to be free. But nooooo, you have to starve it to death, make it fight without rewards, do everything but kick it in the slats to finally make him go.
If there is an easier way to release one kind of pet so you can get another, someone
please tell me. I really enjoy being a hunter so far, but this aspect of the game made me feel like a pos after I finished the last session. I hope there is some kind of "free your pet" command that I just don't know yet, and
if there isn't there should be. What's next, a "beat your pet with a stick" command to make it want to leave quicker?
